I look forward, some day, to a walk from the LSE park to the Riverwalk through this. Definitely a huge plus that building this was a part of the program.

For all of you people dissing Vista as some sort of failure by the developer, sure everything isn't perfect but Vista is a HUGE boost to this area. Not only for the tower and the (eventual) restaurant with that kick ass multi-story restaurant/viewing space that will be very popular in the post-Covid world, but also the infrastructure improvements. The north south road and pedestrian connections are a substantial upgrade to the cityscape.

I swear, from above, the vents are blue, I think they were installed upside down. Or need to be switched. The problem is, from below you are looking up into the vents, parallel to the slats, which are blue. From above, you only see the blue slats.

I took these a couple of days ago. Sorry for the poor quality. Are they really finished with the mechanical coverings? Looked unfinished to me - like brackets for additional panels. I know this has been discussed but seeing the vents/mechanical floor coverings in person for the first time in a while makes me think they are not finished. I also noticed these strange metal panels covering certain curtain wall sections. Are these temporary?

Is it possible that the glass delivery is again behind schedule? The NW corner of the building's glass installation is totally stalled - no work recently as far as I can tell maybe a couple of weeks or more.

Sure looks spectacular from below - her best profile

NW glass install is not stalled anymore. You can see the progress in the last few weeks through the webcam images. They are installing glass from the bottom up.

Oh, so they didn't go with a mirrored material as suggested in renderings. Probably a good change IMO, the mirrored would have sucked more light into the "cave" but would look really chintzy and be difficult to clean. There is a slight sheen to the final material though, not sure if this is fiber cement with a glossy finish or if it's truly metallic like an Apple Store.

Agreed that the infrastructure in this project is key. Not only does it provide a dignified connection from the Riverwalk to LSE Park but it also finally completes the upper level road "loop" with a link from Upper Wacker to Harbor Drive, and provides a finished cap on the raw stump of Upper Wacker left over from the S-curve project in the 80s. IIRC there is even some public plaza space and a fountain at the end of that Upper Wacker deck. Nice place to sit and enjoy the urban canyon.

Well I don't know how I missed that but its good news. I guess we're stuck with the vent panels as is then. Sure look unfinished, though..

The black mechanical louvers are complete. There are no plans to do anything else with them.

Turning out great. The overall form is way more elegant than I thought it was going to be.
