^ This one's actually a reasonably nice design. The same can't be said for the Argyle Hotel nearby. Which was clearly designed by an aesthetic sadist.

^Yes. Usually I'm pretty ok with a lot of the alright looking new buildings people on here hate on, but the new Argyle Hotel is awful looking. Feels like a prison.

Is Millennium Hollywood still happening? I haven't heard news from that site in like a year.

The horrible lot on Riverside Dr between Griffith Park and Fletcher that has been a permanent tagging wall for a decade is finally beginning construction.

It will be 157 units and the developer has agreed to install landscaped medians on Riverside

Arguably great except for the parking podium portion of the building.

I'd love to see the grading if someone would be willing to go take some pics there.

Hmmm, 641 units in two buildings probably means 20-ish story towers, similar to their 23-story twin tower development on the next block. If all of this moves forward (which in my opinion is a bit of a long-shot, but still possible), it would start a transformation of this area into a truly dense transit-oriented mixed use neighborhood that could be the model moving forward as we expand our rail network. Towers don't need to be tall for dense neighborhoods to develop, but developing densely within a 1/4 mile to a 1/2 mile of heavy rail stops should be the modus operandi moving forward.

Ktown is making good use of its 3 Purple Line stops (and Vermont/Beverly will get in on the action someday, I hope).

Gruen & Associates - listed as the architects in those elevation drawings - has some different renders on their web site. Scale and massing look to be the same, but overall design is different. I wonder which one is the most recent iteration of the design. Either way, if this is built, it looks like a 32-story, roughly 320 ft tall tower (though difficult to tell from the fonts in the elevations), if not taller. GREAT for that area and will stand out.

Dang. Koreatown, Westlake, and City West seem to be really heating up.

^^Nice height, horrible design, and terrible parking garage. I wish they could just shove it or at lease part of it underground and put a park on top.

The parking garage doesn't bother me as much as it does other people as it's mid-block and is activated at ground level. So not as egregious from my point of view. As for design, it's not the greatest, but looks decent enough. Though I'd love to see renders of the elevations that blackcat posted.
