An amazing pic of Vancouver with a few of the suburban skylines in the background:

Mt. Baker is ~70 miles away from that shot, in the state of Washington.

Where I grey up it was about 40 miles away, but our house had an amazing view of it. I looked at it every morning while eating breakfast!

Love that! Though to be fair it's a telephoto.

I'm 50 miles from Mt. Rainier, which 14,410' vs. Baker's 10,781', and it looks far smaller.

Even Tacoma, just 30 miles from Mt. Rainier, has a less dominant view than that. Still impressive as hell though.

Vancouver's real backdrop is the lesser mountains to the north, which dominate because they're so close.

It’s obviously telephoto but I grew up 40 miles from Mt. Baker and its presence was not insignificant, it dominated the south east view from our front windows.

I believe it. I’m in Portland and Mt. Hood pops out pretty prominently when traveling east on any slight hill, and it’s only a bit higher than 11,000 feet but it’s 50 miles out.
