Winning changes everything. A guy who has been around the game as long as Bones has gets a team to buy in to the level the Jets have bought in that’s hard to give up.

At this point they’d probably run through brick walls for him.

revealed on the weekend that Wheeler played the 3rd period with a "split testicle" before he had surgery, that hurts just to type it. Hockey players a different breed

Wheeler deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame just for that legendary demonstration of toughness.

It reminds me of Alex Edler when he played for Vancouver in the playoffs and he took a similar shot and completed his shift... as much as one can in that instance.

Unfortunately, that was not the case for our last coach..

I wish they could play roll the bones by rush at games just before a line change would be pretty cool.

Its obvious and has been for a while that coaching was the issue. Florida is crumbling. Glad Bowness has got the team flying again!

#Trotzwatch still on.

Even massive wrenches get damaged and need to be repaired.

Thank goodness he already has kids. I'm sure his wife is glad anyway.

Re Trotz it cannot be said enough or ignored that he is from Manitoba. With True North wanting the Jets to be a deep playoff threat and Trotz having coached to a cup win I think there will always be an eye on him coming to coach the home town team in hopes of winning a cup. It really isn't all that different than the home town kid that goes on to being a first round pick dreaming of winning the cup with the home town pro team.

I suppose we acquired the next best thing. Bowness was involved in the original Jets organisation from 1980-89, first as a player, then as a coach for their AHL team, before becoming the replacement coach in 1989, once Dan Maloney was fired.

From then on, Bowness would have stays in Boston, Ottawa, New York, Phoenix, Vancouver, Tampa Bay, and finally the Dallas Stars.

I wonder who this years Stastny will be?

Some interesting pieces in Phoenix, Vancouver, and Chicago that I’m sure Chevy is doing his due diligence on.

Isn't it though? Maybe even better. One thing that stands out for me so far this year (and I really hope it continues) is that the Jets seem to be avoiding their last minute/last second collapses that have plagued them seemingly forever. If the Jets had a one-goal lead going into the last five minutes of a game it seemed no better than 50-50 that they would be able to hold onto it. Now I don't have to cringe behind the sofa each time the opposition touches the puck.

The legend! I doubt anyone in Winnipeg has ever been to as many sports events as him. Truly the number one fan.

Happy Birthday Dancin' Gabe!

He is a national treasure at this point. There should be a Canadian Heritage Moment done about him one day.

The Golden Jet passed away.
I remember the big signing on the corner of Portage and Main. Fun times!
