It is supposed to be extended northwards. But I think that was put on hold. Not sure if COVID reasons or others. They recently re-did the existing strip mall.

That strip mall get's decent business. But since they kicked out all the old tenants and brought in new, I'm assuming for rent purposes, not sure how business is doing. I think the only old tenant is get & go pizza. Used to go there all the time when younger. We go to the C&J bake shop on occasion.

Can you believe the city let this happen, especially when they could of easily reconfigured the parking area so 3 story rental wasn't so close to Care Home

^ When they're that close you might as well just build them immediately adjacent to each other in proper urban form. That would have been an improvement over the way it has turned out.

What kind of world do we live in where a proper urban environment with party walls is practically unheard of nowadays, but something like this is considered fine?!

Maybe I shouldn't be negative, though... perhaps it will gradually evolve into Winnipeg's version of this:

Disgusting. That proximity would annoy people even in downtown Vancouver, or any other city with a very limited amount of space. On the outskirts of Winnipeg where you're surrounded by green space? Completely inexcusable

you can't build a house that close to a neighbour so how is this allowed? is the developer of both building the same?

2 different developers, the infill rentals are absolutely disgusting, made solely for profit and no regard for surrounding buildings

No idea how city would approve this
