If it makes people feel better, this will be 17 ft taller than Tower Verre... and so, it will have an impact as viewed from the Hudson River.

Unless Hell's Kitchen magically gets rezoned and taller super talls rise as to mask or block this, the impact of this will be known.

^ It’ll actually be taller than that. The 1,067 height is to the main roof, and doesn’t account for the sloped crown.

As for people who don’t want to see a rendering, how do you know you don’t want to see something you haven’t seen? See the rendering, and then hate it. But this tower is being built. If you want to avoid it, just avoid New York.

I still have a sneaking suspicion that the final product will be quite a bit different than this axonometric diagram.

If so, they'll have to file for it. No bait and switch with the DOB, which is the ultimate authority on what gets built. (City Planning tells you what is allowed to be built, DOB is what enforces it and where you have to prove what you are building).

Which is interesting considering the frequency the supplied drawing or rendering on the official DOB "whats happening here" info on the blue construction fence turns out looking only vaguelly similar to the finished product... at least on much lower profile projects.

more often, i also notice the posted site render turns out to be just like the finished product, so …

regardless, for this goofiness its not a good sign either way.

Disagree. I think it looks really cool, a true futuristic sci-fi kind of tower. New York has so many sloped tall buildings, it's about time they changed up the formula and inverted things, kinda like the movie Tenet. Gotta expand your mind and start thinking outside the box man, unique designs like this will be the norm in the future https://youtu.be/WcGbnX8Ay38

Nothing official. Just a guess as to what this will probably look like.

We can already see that, though not as tall, this tower would be a much better addition to the skyline than Central Park Tower. And the views from the top will be insane.
