Looks Like the Golf Place for the Old Drive Shack is still moving forward despite Top Golf coming

City Council just voted to approve this CEA and also has agreed to make these improvements to roads in the area and lighting and signage

They might as well press forward since they’ve already committed to it. Besides a little competition never hurt anyone; gives locals and tourist more options.

Really hoping that the Pythian Market comes back. They had some great food stalls in there, and it was a really convenient place to grab a quick bite to eat. Sad to see it shuttered currently.

I can see why the local golf place wants to move forward. Even though Top Golf will be a big draw, the local group is going to be at great location as well, the vibe should be unique and their skyline views will be amazing. They should build a huge rooftop bar.

There should be enough demand for both to work, and well. People want other things to do in New Orleans and the development over the last few years (and beyond) is showing that.

BUILD IT.

I do agree it will have great views and also the exploding targets does seem really cool. Hope they are both successful !

I could see it ultimately being more popular with locals or people who are in New Orleans frequently, compared to Top Golf, which will likely end up a lot of convention tourists. I agree they could both work just fine, given the different locations. Plus, this one will be really visible from I-10, so it'll be hard for it to get forgotten.

I’m eagerly awaiting the Bayou Phoenix plans for the old Six Flags site. I have to hand it to the city, slowly but surely-they’re doing away with these abandoned /blighted properties that have plagued it for years.

I attended the virtual meeting for the master plan for the entire site and this will be a transformational development for the entire metro area. I am really excited to see who the Major Water park operator will be. They mentioned that it will be BIG! I am also excited for the end to end Film / TV production and development which they also mentioned that major players in that industry are interested and will be lead by Elvin Ross (https://elvinross.com/studio).

New Orleans east will soon make New Orleans the Film hub it had desired to be back before the Film incentive cap, with being the future home of two end to end film studios, the other would be Anthony Mackie's planned studio.

The city also announced today that Lincoln Beach will receive almost $25 million in funding for its redevelopment. https://www.wwltv.com/article/news/l...9-6c2bf6781dbf

That’s outstanding..I still have hope that one day Bayou Phoenix will purchase additional land to build an actual theme park. But this is most definitely a great start.

Great to hear! New Orleans East should be the "Universal City" of New Orleans. Build that huge Film/TV Production development on that plot of land and develop another large work/live/play area dedicated to the industry at the Plaza Mall Site down the line. So much potential.

If you build it, they will come.

Question maybe someone knows the answer to, but during the bidding phase for Six Flags , the Drew Brees led bid pulled out of the bidding saying they were pursuing a logistics hub. IS that still a thing ? They never shared any details just remember that being mentioned

But yes always good to see delvelopment over there and hope Plaza Mall site can be addressed in some way soon... and some soundwalls along interstate there I think will look attractive to everyone to more investors
