The crews were cleaning the graffiti off of the brick building to the north of the pickle building, and they said that the newer metal buildings in between the buildings were to be demolished. I also spoke to one of the owners who just pulled up when I was there.

Until recently I didn't really understand why people on the forum hate this building so much. Now I get it. For those unaware, the building that used to be at that site was the Dooly Building, the only building in SLC that was designed by the great Louis Sullivan himself. What a terrible loss!

Source and extensive article about the Dooly Building
Wow Atlas! Yes, the Holiday Inn building was a massive downgrade to this building. No question!

[QUOTE=Blah_Amazing;9257008][I really don't like INDUSTRY from the outside. That whole stretch seems bland and something really needs to be done to that street to make it look better. Some trees would help at least a little bit.
It honestly needed to be way taller than one floor or at least have had more color than gray/beige to make things pop. Its sad, cause I remember the renderings of the interior being really nice.

The original plan was for Industry to completely redo that block with wider sidewalks, trees, just two lanes of traffic, etc. to tie the project into their property across the street to the east where additional office, housing, etc. is/was planned.

95 State

It appears they are beginning to install the exterior curtain along the roof of 95 State today.

Looks like there was more to finish. Was told demo of the Carl's Jr. will begin at 7:00 AM on Monday morning.

Maybe they were waiting on those white-painted beams to come in? From the webcam:

I'm not sure how I keep finding new (old) renderings of the 370 South West Temple project. Here's an uncropped version of a rendering we've already seen that I just came across.

Is this still in the works? Or is this project dead?

Still in the works, as far as I know. It's still on their website and we've only really known about it since September. My guess is that Domain has been busy finishing up The Exchange and they'll move on to this when that project is wrapped up.

From this page:
https://thedomaincos.com/portfolio/south-west-temple/

It states that the project is expected to be completed in late 2023. Depending on the construction schedule, we could see work starting in the next 6 to 12 months.

2020 was the year of three 20-30 story buildings under construction in SLC. 2021 is shaping up to be a year where three 30-40 story buildings break ground. Let that sink in.

Also, someone on Reddit mentioned that the Kensington Tower has a new name.

Hey Orlando, thanks for the photo updates! The Exchange is turning out great. I love that mural on the south side of "The Shop." If you get a chance, could you give us a new massing of downtown with all of the current projects and proposals? Maybe from the south looking up State Street toward the capitol?

Methinks we will have respectable urban canyons on State Street and 200 S soon! Main Street is really the only one right now.

No need to get sarcastic. I just think the Main Street project isn't for sure ready to start this year.

It'll probably pass design review sometime next month, for what it's worth. The public comment period ends April 26th.
