My guess is just based on the routes in the photo, that there's no way that there were as many tram stops as bus stops. That said, we can also discuss the distance between stops. I would favour a sort of hybrid tram/LRT wherein the stops are quite a bit further apart and the ROW is somewhat segregated but does not necessitate a pricey fully grade-separated system.

I also don't think we would really need that many routes to begin with and maybe modify them slightly because of the way the city has grown, but overall that is a solid route map.

I imagine maybe they'll move the construction office into TNS 1 or 2 soon? They still need one for towers 3, 4 & 5, but need to tear the current one down to start 5.

From what I understand it'll be second floor of tower 1 with a cool window to the actual brewing equipment

Makes sense.

Perhaps their lack of fixation is why property values didn't climb appropriately?

Obviously we're in a different generation, but rail stations in BC are blowing up property values and development proposals dramatically.

Free Press is reporting that the True North Square is being used for the expansion of the Downtown Biz Farmers Market at the Manitoba Hydro Building plaza.

The biggest difference to me though is ride quality. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to get whiplash from being on the bus, especially if you have to stand. Rail is so much smoother and more people would definitely use it.
I'm not so sure about them taking up less space. I mean, there are streetcars in my city and they take up at least as much space as any bus I've ever seen. I'd say that they can take more passengers but otherwise they're not any different in terms of the space they take up.

It sure would be nice to have streetcars in Winnipeg again. Aside from bringing back that major city feel with having streetcars, it would be a smart decision to take advantage of Manitoba's hydroelectric power and reduce our usage of fossil fuels.

On the topic of True North Square, it was a nice surprise to hear the news about tower 5 to be built for Wawanesa. It caught me off guard since I was only expecting there to be the 4 buildings as showcased in the original concept. It was sort of like when Artis announced plans for 300 Main out of the blue. I never would have thought something would be built on that location since it had gone unchanged for decades. It's great to see all that is happening in our downtown now.

^ Thanks Wpg_Guy, it looks great in there.

I will say, some of the people moving into TNS 2 might have to get used to people being able to see into their suite. I know that the patio at Tavern offers a pretty clear view into the lower-floor suites that are just across the street, and it looks like the workers in TNS 1 will also have a pretty clear view into many of the south facing suites.
