It's a shame the project doesn't also include public access along Ogden Slip. But at least there should be multiple ways for pedestrians to get to DuSable Park, with a stair/elevator up to the Flyover.
Park construction is not by Related, right? The Park District still needs to go through a planning process for DuSable Park, but it seems that process is underway. A design concept was shared in May (PDF alert):

The design concept seems kinda blah, there's "something for everybody" but it's all mediocre etc. The one cool idea is a "Council of Three Fires" orange beacon into the sky, similar to the Tribute in Light at the WTC site in NY.
Of course, that's probably the thing that will get cut due to NIMBYism, concerns with aircraft and migratory birds, etc but it is certainly the most awesome "land acknowledgement" I've ever seen...
