Exploration complete? Holes are filled and equipment has been removed from site. The parking lot across the ally is still in service.

Railway Exchange

Anyone know when this was added? It's nice to see 130 making a dent in Chicago Architecture history whether it's realized or not

^ No idea but I'm really hoping they find an anchor soon.

Is it just me or do they have the block bounded by Wacker, Lake, Franklin, Randolph on backwards?

And yet they didn't have Vista Tower in the model, and it's actually under construction.

Oh yeah -- I knew that didn't look right. They need to turn that block 180 degrees.

It's actually kind of embarrassing how many mistakes they have on that model to this day. They are supposed to be the fucking experts on Chicago architecture afterall hahaha

That being said, the tower has a bigger impact on the skyline than I would have expected

They just cleaned the model last week right before Open House. This always involves taking the entire thing apart. It looks like someone put it back down incorrectly. If you send CAF an email, they are usually good at looking into the issue.

As far as Vista goes, they are usually depending on the architect to give them a 3d model from which to create the building. If it's not there yet, it could be that the model missed this round of revisions. That said, they usually wait until the building is under construction to put it into the model, so it is odd that 130 Franklin is already there.

The sales office for Vista already has a nice 3-d model so I feel like they should have been able to do this for a while

Everything I hear is still indicating "go" and that they still have their anchor, and that this is sooner rather than later, as in believe it or not, a groundbreaking is still possible by, or shortly after, year-end. I'm going to try to fetch some fresh info in the next week or two, but there should be 'official' reports out there soon, I'd think. Typically I think an anchor LOI signing is picked-up by Crain's or other media - or 'self-reported' to same - not too long after, so perhaps Sidley (my guess, but could be another anchor, as there are a few other big fish out there swimming about) just hasn't quite dotted every last i yet, or perhaps they have recently signed but this one has somehow been kept under atypically tight wraps? Likely more to come soon.....

Excellent! All my favorite proposals are starting to come to fruition (this, Riverline, Vista).

Wow, I'm stoked. Another lot bites the dust, another tower, and this one will be beautiful. I'm also glad to see some nonresidential go up. Too many apartment towers get boring, as well as contributing to the glut.
