60-Story Edgewater Apartment Tower Submitted To Planners

NYSE-listed Aimco has submitted plans to build a 650-foot apartment tower in Edgewater to Miami-Dade planners for review.
The project will be built on Biscayne Bay, across the street to the south from Aimco’s Hamilton on the Bay. Aimco wants to close the street off to build a waterfront pedestrian plaza with with landscape and hardscape improvements.
According to the newly submitted plans, the new 60-story tower will include:
241 residential units
4,696 square feet of restaurant
380 parking spaces in an 8-story garage, partially lined with residential (30% reduction waiver, 20% EV capable)
Even after the new tower is built, Aimco will still have rights to build an additional 1,135,141 square feet and 225 more residential units, the application notes.
Stantec is the architect.
The project is pending final site plan review by the City of Miami, and the developers are now requesting a hearing from Miami-Dade’s Shoreline Development Review Committee.
