the windows in this building are single pane and you can feel the wind coming through.

At work the men's staff restroom is feeling colder than the walk-in fridge, you can see your breath in there cause it's so cold. The room has two exterior walls and the insulation is pretty non-existent it seems. There is also no heat going into that area.

Snowing pretty heavily in my neck of the woods. Got this week off, so I don't mind. It's rare that you see a -6 in the downtown area with heavy snow coming down. Good kind of snow that's easy to deal with.

I was tracking the radar up until about 1:30 last night. It was amazing seeing a narrow, continuous band of snow just slamming straight into us for hours.

Few nights ago was the coldest in Vancouver since 52 years.

Stanley Park and the world-famous Seawall were rather quiet in this cold weather.

Also Siwash Rock had some snow on it.

Cliffs of Stanley Park become a wall of ice in a weather like this.

North Shore covered in snow.

Nice, I can feel (sense) the cold off the photos of those rock faces.

This afternoon our building was dropping ice-bombs. They pretty much all landed onto the canopy below.

The Alex Fraser bridge was closed from 12 noon to 10 pm today. The Port Mann bridge closed down thursday night, I was in Surrey and had to get home to Coquitlam, so luckily i was tuned into the traffic station and went via the Patullo, north bound was fine, south bounfd was very backed up in all directions/on-ramps on the new west side. Lots of puddling now.

This is definitely a repeat of winter, 2008.

I wasn't paying attention to the weather yesterday morning and wore my dress shoes downtown. Not only did I almost fall multiple times, but I also had to dodge numerous puddles. I should have taken a page from your book and worn rubbers.

And now the wind.

I've been watching the Live Cams and some of the plumes from the waves crashing against the seawall at Sunset Beach are going as high as the barge.

Also, the docks at the public boat launching ramp at Vanier Park are getting wrecked.

In the third pic below I managed to catch a medi-vac arrival at the helipad at Vancouver Harbour (patient getting wheeled up the ramp).
Maybe it's too windy for them to land at Vancouver General Hospital.

Jericho Pier is trashed. The waves on the seawall around the West End are crazy. The wind is so loud I have to wear earphones during work calls. Parks Board closed some of the roads leading into Stanley Park. about 20 people walking up the road I can see from my balcony going to check out the waves at 2nd beach!

I just left Surrey where it was just starting to snow, the Coquitlam side has nothing yet, some pretty icy spots and a few potholes though.

So how do you think things will be in June? With monsoons in May, all bets are off.

Nice day today, but yesterday? Woof. There was a river running down the alley behind my apartment.
