Pretty much in the envelope we should expect. I hope the facade is really nice.

I wonder if the price tag will eclipse 2 billion for this.

^ Possibly. It's notoriously expensive to build in the city.

Not to scale, but an idea of how this tower would fill the site.

It would really suck if that’s what they’re planning.

Well, I don't know what you were expecting from looking at the stacking diagrams. It was always basically a shaft over a setback.

I'm guessing that's what we're getting. Can't see all of the details so hopefully something will make it interesting.

Looks very much like 425 Park Avenue from the massing. The scale is off. That's just a slide from the presentation. It could be a version of the tower, but the massing won't change.

A tall box. Makes sense.

In all seriousness, we might be seeing more of this with M.East Rezoning or within proximity.

While architectural eye candy is nice, it comes down to how much space can folks maximize and the amenities that clients seek.

When you look at it closely, particularly the top, it still could be interesting, I'm excited to see what color scheme they went with.

It also looks about ~900 ish feet, buy maybe it's just the angle.

That's not the scale. We already know what the numbers are as far as that goes. Just trying to get a better look at the design that will be presented. I still say it's close to 425 Park and a number of other towers in form...

Folks'll look back on today's skyline images and exclaim "wow I can't imagine when it was only the Chrysler and Empire State building, that must have been so weird!"

It's hilarious how quickly people adjust to the new normal, those who proclaim to hate change fastest of all.

They'll adjust. One thing about the New York skyline, it's constantly growing. It's never done. That's something people don't realize. We are witnessing the greatest change in the history of the city's skyline, which has now spread well beyond Manhattan's borders into Queens, Brooklyn, and even New Jersey, all with skylines larger than many American cities. It's what allows New York to keep growing. The city recognized this, and its why the rezonings for the Hudson Yards, the east side, and downtown Brooklyn and Long Island City were put into place. It's what the NIMBYs don't grasp, and never will. The City is never "finished".

Those grouping of towers in some of those presentation images are pretty damn ugly.

I don't get why they feel the need to put the shaft/core portion to one side.

Center it or put it on a kitty corner of the main tower; but not this.

Edit: on second look from the proposal draw-up, the shaft portion looks wider.
