From the rendering it looks like the stairs at the corners of the Hancock plaza will remain, only the large stair in the center will be removed. It seems like a good trade off to me for the space gained, and will provide an interesting street side observation area for the prisim stage when it's in use.

NYC investor buys Oak Street building for $47M - Plans to tear it down and build a new one:

I know people are against tear downs here, but IMO this building kind of lacks compared to the other buildings in the area. I'm really curious to see what they'll come up with.

The problem is literally everything has or will be torn down/radically altered in this area.

Yes, it's kind of weird. This building though is probably one of the least I'd be sad to see go. The others, of course - like if someone came in and wanted to tear down where Northern Trust is or Lanvin, I wouldn't be happy. This one - not a terrible building but nothing outstanding either.

If anyone remembers those guys doing the Wabash Lights project, their website says their about a month away from the beta test installation. I believe the test will stretch from Monroe to Adams. Will be interesting to see how it looks.

Sad to see those buildings on Fulton get torn down for Brooklyn Bowl. My first job here was selling cheese at farmers markets and our cold storage was in 836 W Fulton. A gross little building but holds sentimental value to me!

It will be fun to play where I once worked though..

Looks like the Talbott Hotel on Delaware near Rush was just purchased by ....John Cusack, Chris Chelios, Bill Rancic, and John Pritzker. I think Sterling Bay was involved too. Random. It sold for $51 million.

They got them a few weeks ago actually.

Kind of positive sign - 7 new SFH building permits issued for 36th street between Western and Artesian on the border of McKinley Park and Brighton Park. The only downside - pretty close to the Orange Line but not multi unit. Not enough demand for new multi unit in that area though probably. Fairly close to the site of where 2 permits for 18 townhomes were issued in June though.
