Regina is literally never going to have an NHL team. You really need to learn some critical thinking skills, especially if you're going to be online where anyone can publish content about anything.

My point is why even post it in not one, but two threads on here?

Haha considering their post history, I don't think that's it. Why are you obsessed with me that you are speaking for The mayor? I am flattered but it is also kind of weird.

An exciting step forward for what the future can hold with some bootstraps and action. It will be a game changer for the City without a doubt.

Considering Yorkton has a much better facility than us, this was sorely needed.

Smile New Suggestions to the Regina Downtown

Hello Friends, I am Tanu.

I have been living in Regina for the past 4 years, one of my favorite places to spend my entire life. That being said, I have visited many big cities across Canada; the top being Vancouver. One thing I always felt like is why can’t we make Regina downtown similarly? Regina downtown is pretty amazing thanks to the team, but it would be great if we could somehow invest or build some skyscrapers. Because there is a lot of space around that we can utilize. Below is my plot with the rectangular boxes that I think we can build or improvise the spot for a better structure. You don't need to allocate an entire empty spot on the ground floor just for parking. You can make parking lots or spots on top of the building. Just look at my idea and let me know.

You're right, but there's no demand for more towers downtown right now.

Recently noticing the still-empty office buildings on the north side of College Ave renewed my disgust for the new Conexus office building in Wascana. Sure it looks decent and resulted in Darke Hall being reno'd but it wasn't without cost. There will be no new office building built in downtown for a very long time.

Tanu, welcome. It is interesting that of the 4 sites you identify, 3 have had recent proposals. If you search the Forum you should find some renders. No. 1 is the Harvard site for Hill Tower 4. No. 2 is owned by the Hotel Saskatchewan and in the past saw a proposal for a parking garage that at times also included a pool and fitness centre. No. 3 saw a serious proposal for what would have been Regina's largest office building about 10 years ago, but that fell through after the developers where unable to secure SGI or SaskPower as an anchor tenant. No. 4 is the site of the former Bay parking garage. That was demolished about 15 years ago. I am not aware of any proposals at that site.

Has there been any indication of what and where these non-vehicular trails will be?

I think the main one is along the tracks between downtown and REAL District.

Thats already funded via the 9 odd million the City got earlier in the year. the Catalyst Recommendations were, if i'm not mistaken for 20 million inter connected between Wascana, Downtown, REAL in a large loop.

Not to be a history nerd but that parking garage came down in 2002. It's been 21 years of flat parking lot ugliness now.
