The rehab of the Hayden house looks so clean. Gonna be a great contrast to the project.

Was this approved already by the DRC? I'm confused. The renderings I saw were atrocious.

I'm not sure about the project itself getting approved yet. This may be just to make sure the FAA allows them to build that tall.

Some pics from this weekend. The garage screens are nice and a cool design.

This would have been a very unattractive building had they went cheap and opted for red stucco.

The only one I could find on a quick search is the Tempe Development FB page:

https://www.facebook.com/tempedevelopment/

Scroll down to about Jan 15th.

If you guys want to see an example of what NOT to do for garage screening go look at the Watermark office building... a couple months in and it looks horrible. Brown water stains all over and looks dated from getting blasted from the sun all day.

This is probably moving through mostly due to the tax revenue from the hotel portion it will generate for the city. As city budgets get crunched from the pandemic, any revenue generating projects are surely to get preferential treatment and pushed through id imagine. Fingers crossed a new design was demanded by the city planning department.

Has there been any movement on the I.D.E.A Hotel? I just drooled over the rendering on the FB page.

I’m actually hopeful of the IDEA Campus becoming something of a node for Tempe Town Lake rather than just another insulated corporate park with “waterfront views.”

No, it has not been approved yet. But as someone else mentioned that doesn't necessarily stop them from moving forward with the FAA obstruction evaluation.

Here is the rendering:

Red sign up for zoning approval for X Phoenix, which is planned for Terrace/Rural where the Golub project was previously proposed.

I haven't seen a rendering yet, but stats are 21 stories, 418 units, 17k SF commercial space.

A bit of a bummer that they keep starting over on that lot, but hopefully this iteration doesn't have the big ugly standalone garage like the Golub proposal did.

Hey Everyone,

I can't recall if I shared this previously, below is a list of all proposed, under construction and existing buildings in Tempe.

For proposed projects I have included Project File submitted to Tempe.gov website.

Let me know if you have any questions.

This project is honestly horrendous. They need to kill at least 2 levels of parking and get rid of the horrible red facade. I will be shocked if Tempe allows this to get pushed through.

Why do they feel so much parking is needed? I mean it would be getting built right over the light rail tracks.

Betting that the city is wanting some of it for public parking for events. Doesn’t the streetcar go right by there...and then by Sun Devil stadium?

Agreed, way too much parking. I do like how the train goes through the building
