They are really taking their time with this tower. The quality looks better than most in the photo.

My only concern with the roof line was the opportunity to cheap out on it. I'm less concerned about this now. I can't say I'm bothered by the design of it.

I hope more opportunity is given to the Pei Brothers in Toronto. The cladding doesn't look to be of a higher standard than other condo developments. It's the execution of the design as well as the subtle details that enhance a design that doesn't care about wow factor.

I just find the roof to be a lazy attempt to be interesting. It looks awkward in all the renders.

At least the roof won't be visible from the street.

Maybe. It's something you expect to see built in Toronto. There are also details I have not seen in Toronto before and, in general, are of a higher standard typical to Toronto.

I recognize two buildings in the render: the Pei and RioCan.

Really have to visit Yonge/Eglinton... so much has changed.

I was out on Chester Hill yesterday, took some images of the skyline an projects that really stuck out. This shows the impact of the new tower for the area, which looks to be pretty close to topped out. (the focus was a bit off....apologies):

19. 22|21 Yonge / Toronto ON / 192.5 meters / 58 Floors
Walking by the area, they were pretty active in hauling these concrete pieces up, I saw one of the pieces seen in the truck being lifted about 200 M into the sky by the crane...pretty interesting thing to watch as the sun was setting hours after these photos were captred:

33 Yorkville News (216m - site excavation was well underway)

Bankrupt Cresford Developments’ properties continue to be sold by the receiver, including Pemberton’s September purchase
of 33 Yorkville. (Rumour has it the property will host an even taller tower than approved, subject to an increase in spandrel exterior cladding of approximately 73%).
Resumption of construction would move 33 Yorkville back into the Top Ten u/c list.

Originally reported in the Canadian Skyline Thread along with steveve's 200m+ render of the waterfront to Bloor-Yorkville skyline.
