The cladding overall is below "meh," but I like the massing.

Honestly I thought it would look more garish against the patina and ornament of the Divine Lorraine, but it's not so bad. The grander-than-average entrance to the Aldi does add a bit of hustle and vitality to the intersection. Overall a win for the neighborhood and the city.

The best side of this project is the Fairmount Avenue side.

I'm not sure why anyone isn't photographing it. It is quite lovely, certainly a huge upgrade over the empty lot and negative space all around it. It's rather understated and classic.

This Aldi storefront is an aberration relative to the rest of the project. I'm not sure why that cladding as it's not only out of character with the street front, but the rest of the project as well.

But c'est la vie. It doesn't kill it for me given the vitality it will bring to that intersection.
