It sure would benefit tremendously

Here's a terribly done photoshop i made to get a rough idea of its impact on the skyline lol

Oh you are too modest! Thanks for the mock-up.

The other day I found myself admiring this outstanding photo for several minutes. The city is lucky to have One Chicago, and would be even luckier if it also gets the Tribune Tower Addition.

No but that's where it will go when the renovation is complete.

I really enjoy that the lower level streets in Illinois Center & River North are slowly getting tunneled/covered by new development. Its been a test of patience to wait them out, but quite satisfying to see.

Gotta stay optimistic! I believe this team knows what they are doing and will get this beautiful supertall built.

Fingers crossed!

The economy is good and I think the hotel market will make a strong comeback in Chicago.

The important part of the article

Quote:
Walsh Construction Company is serving as the general contractor behind the current construction, with a reported price tag of $150 million to complete. With work on the conversion expected to wrap up during the fourth quarter of this year, a second tower by the same developers may soon kick off on an adjacent plot. Known as Tribune East, this 1,422-foot supertall has been designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. Projected to be the city’s second tallest building, the mixed-use tower would house a hotel, condominiums, and apartments. While the skyscraper received approval last year, no permits have yet been issued or filed. This spring, a sales representative on behalf of Tribune Tower Residences appeared to indicate that the project is still on the table, but did not provide additional specifics. Provided that the tower begins its ascent in the next year, construction for this second phase should wrap up by 2025.

It's nice to have an update but we basically knew this. Good find though.

Sorry no updates...

But I took this like a month ago on the plaza progress. I didn't realize they were doing this before the tower construction so this is nice to see.

Still looks great. This would change the whole vibe of the skyline in a really good way.
