I guess I should not have been shocked to see that Adler's law firm represented LoneStar Airport Holdings in their 90m (later 88m) victory. This whole fiasco should be a warning to any company thinking of signing an agreement with COA.

Why, the lesson here seems to be sign agreements and get massive windfall payments.

So the accusation is what? The city is only trying to get rid of the south terminal so alder's old law firm can make money defending the company operating the south terminal?

That's some intense 4d chess. Did he rig the airport master plan too?

Put yourself in Lonestar's shoes... I'd hire the firm with the most intimate understanding of city politics and contracts. Adler's firm probably tops the list. I don't think this is worthy of a conspiracy trigger.

I don't believe that was their intent and even if it was the origin of the issue was still COA's shortsightedness followed up by their lowballing and then finally a novel, aka illogical, attempt to use eminent domain.

I did not realize that. I looked all over that site for the names of the attorneys, bios, origin story and there is nil.

In life there are many more opportunists than there are architects of conspiracies, so no. I have no idea if Adler still has ties to that firm so hard to say. He could still own private shares for all we know.

illogical?
It would be illogical if eminent domain couldn't be used to acquire/terminate leasehold rights, as that would mean that a single plot of land (if currently leased out) could block any project (highways, etc.).

It's all in the header toolbar.

Here is a list of the attorneys:

Seems to me that LoneStar Airport Holdings did very well by signing an agreement with the COA.

On the bright side, international passengers were up for the month and Y-T-D.

AUS International Passenger Totals:

April - 78,323 - up 21.72% from April 2022
Y-T-D - 287,993 - up 49.10% from Y-T-D 2022

Rumor has it VS (Virgin Atlantic) will be pulling out of AUS next year. The AUS slot will be used to start LHR-BLR (BENGALURU INT'L AIRPORT (BANGALORE, KARNATAKA) in NS24.

Hopefully the rumor is false but I wouldn't be shocked if it's true.

I really hope Virgin doesn't pull....ugh. As long as we always have BA tho.

Also, what is going on with AUS? I heard there were lines out the door yesterday.

Also also, apologies for not scrolling far back, but the 2040 expansion thing is on the backburner now because inflation, etc etc?

Spirit’s Aus-MTY flight also seems like it might go away in the fall.

Yea but what about the possibility of a direct to India. I would say that is more exciting than a second direct to London. It would be the first Asian direct.
