^ Agreed, in person it does look a couple dozen feet shorter than the advertised 418 ft.

The tower is less than 500 feet but appears taller on the skyline. It is a bulky 400’+ building. The buildings is as tall as the EQT and Federated Investor’s Towers. Unlike the aforementioned this tower is highly visible from quite a few areas. It is surprising to see the tower’s dominance from Butler Street in Lawrenceville. The Hill District and Northside views are amazing as well. Sadly the tower blocks the Golf Tower view from Overlook Dr in Schenley Park.

Another 100' in height and it would really help balance the skyline. There is still a major drop-off to the west due to the US Steel Tower and BNY Mellon situated right at the western edge. Still a major improvement.

And as much as I'm happy to finally see construction on the site, I gotta say that the skeleton for this building is pretty underwhelming for all the hype. Just hoping that the glazing helps to set it off... otherwise it will just be filler.

The US Steel Tower and the 1 BNY Mellon Center are on the far eastern edge of downtown. Gateway Center and Point State Park are located on the western edge of downtown.

In person the drop off is not as severe in appearance. This building really adds to the length of downtown and compliments Liberty Center, Chatham Center and the lonely I.M. Pei designed Washington Plaza. Multi Family housing construction is slated to start soon.

The Glazing is actually beautiful. The glass is a dark translucent turquoise with black framing. Very sleek and very modern. It will compliment the BNY Mellon Client Service Center.

It is very bulky as well. 64 acres stacked on top of one another. Huge and intimidating in person. I think that was the goal.

Cant wait for the rest of the developments to start to take off and get rid of all that surface parking.

Taken yesterday from the Hot Metal Bridge and shows FNB's height relative to the topography of Downtown Pittsburgh.

True, but I got my directions reversed in my initial post

I meant that there was a major drop off in height to the east.

As more of the structure takes form, I'm more optimistic about its presence on the skyline. Also, yesterday evening I really noted how it stands out when coming in to town on 279 from the north. Can't wait to see the glass go up. It's going to be cool to see how it shows up on the skyline from various views all over town.

Still, it looks like a little pipsqueak next to US Steel when viewed from the NE

This photo was taken from the FNB Financial Center. With such a stunning view, why would anyone want to work remotely?
