Given how slow it's taking 830 Brickell and the Aston Martin Tower to complete, I anticipate this thing only being complete in 10 years. Not sure if it's supply chain issues or if it's just Miami, but skyscrapers are taking a very long time to fully build here.

Sometimes dewatering and site prep take a while (Waldorf, Okan Tower), as examples. Not unique to just Miami. Site prep can sometimes be the longest stage depending on the complexity.

^ Miami has a pretty high water table, so it makes sense this phase would take a while. Better to get it right from the start.

Official Site has been updated to include more in-depth looks at the residences.

https://www.waldorfresidencesmiami.c...tial-features/

This is currently the tallest tower being constructed outside of NYC, and will also be potentially be beat by 888 Brickell, which is going through sales:

https://888miami.com/ I looked through permitting, no activity as of right now.

Avoiding a city because of a skyscraper seems a bit silly as well as thinking a company is building a hotel/condo just because it's a supertall and not because of the the demand/financial incentives.

Vertical Construction Expected Q1 For Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences
July 19, 2023

The Vertical structure is expected to emerge in the first quarter of 2024, according to an update posted last week on Instagram by a member of the project’s in-house sales team.

Deep soil mixing at the project’s Central Zone has been completed, the update said.
Completion of deep soil mixing will allow for piling work to begin, which is scheduled for early August.

The Waldorf Astoria is expected to become Miami’s first supertall tower, at 100 stories and 1,049 feet.

Not really since technically it’s not under construction. That title goes to Waterline in Austin.

Piling/Foundation work is official construction start on this website, so @bobdreamz's statement is correct. Congratulations to Austin though

When they start pouring concrete it will be under construction. I believe piledriving is considered site prep. Not to nitpick though as I’m excited to see this one rise.

Do you have any diagrams from the City of Miami for this building, including section and elevation drawings that you can post here.

Good to know this is still going ahead along with hopefully the other new tallest.

After what happened with Okan Tower I was a bit nervous.

Is Okan cancelled? Construction on this one has been going on for a while and it's been moving really slow. I do have hope for One Brickell City Centre. Also does anybody know whats going on with the 1 Southside Park project?
