Growing up in the 70's and 80's it was pretty much imbedded in me that Columbia was not a place to visit. Your pictures sure make me want to visit Cartagena.

Yes, Colombia was off our radar too until our good friend who had been there convinced us to go. We were very, very surprised and blown away by the beauty of the Historic Core/Walled City and Gestemani, the highrises along the waterfront, the lush/jungly countryside, and the beautiful small island beach resorts you can access by boat. Great place to visit!
