There will be two. I walked by Thursday and both tower crane bases were installed...one on the South end and one on the North end of the lot.

I see it just to the left of 111 Monroe (Integrate). Also see that the Moon Tower crane is coming down. One crane goes up and 1 comes down.

I see it now to either wasn't up far enough or I just didn't see it. Exciting that this project is finally at this stage.

Yep, it is still boomless. I am not sure why they only partially built it and then completed the 2nd crane first and left the first crane incomplete.

Penthouse for the shorter tower is already one floor above ground level. Wonder if they will be going vertical on the towers before completing the underground garage fully?

Central Station to begin housing students in fall 2024

Central Station, which will include two towers, one for student-oriented housing and one that will be traditional apartments, recently reached a construction milestone the developer called “bottoming out,” meaning the underground excavation work to clear a pit for the underground parking lot has been completed.

The milestone is significant, designers of the project said, because the below-grade parking structure will allow the project to be urban and walkable on the ground floor, without visible parking.

The finished development will require incorporating the bus station, which was temporarily relocated during construction, and the existing light rail lines that border either side of the site. The development will also include 70,000 square feet of office space and ground-floor retail space.

The student housing portion, which will be a 22-story tower with about 240 units, is planned to be open ahead of the 2024 school year, Gary Holloway Jr., CEO of GMH Communities, the developer and operator of the project, said. The student housing tower will be called Anova, a brand that GMH has begun building in several markets around the country.

Central Station is now as tall as the wall of parking podiums on the East side of First Avenue. I for one am glad it went with underground parking.

Really glad they went underground with parking also. In reasonable measure and using good aesthetics, podium parking can be just fine...but yeah the way it's being used lately is both ubiquitous and screams "value engineering". We need more balance at the ground level.
