Wonderful pics! I haven't been yet but I am a little fascinated with Houston and how it has developed and I can't wait to visit.

Probably the best Houston photo thread in years. So much good has happened there that doesn't get proper attention here.

During my last trip to Houston in October, I noticed that so many parks, parkways, trails, and thoroughfare medians in the inner loop are so nicely landscaped and maintained compared with most cities. The Uptown thoroughfares are a good example. I looked into this and found out that Houston has 27 TIRZ zones, and that has something to do with where corporations are contributing large amounts of funding for this. I checked and found out that Austin has only a couple, which explains why our public areas are so poorly maintained in Austin except for along the river downtown. I sent a drone video of Houston to the Austin chamber of commerce to try to get their attention on this. Not much luck so far.

Excellent photos! It’s been about 15 years since I’ve been to Houston and it definitely looks denser, especially the Galleria/Post Oak area.

Thanks! What ever you do, don't visit between mid-May and mid-October!

Thanks! The city is definitely changing for the better. At least some parts of it.

Thanks! 15 years is an eternity these days. Density all over the Inner Loop has increased.

The heat is bearable. It's the humidity that's a killer.

I'm used to it. PA, DC, ATL...I have spent a lot of my time and life in swampy areas.

Are you able to do drone shots over the TMC? Not sure if its allowed with all the helicopters coming and going.
