As is, with the lack of street presence, that looks like it would be good for low-traffic businesses, like lawyers, medical office, loan places, etc.... The second floor would be useful if a business needs a bit more space, not necessarily on the main level (lawyer offices for example)

In an ideal situation, I agree that a more street hugging construction would probably be better; but with Second Cup and RBC already fully built and open, you wouldn't get them to take the closure hit to build such a property. (And I suspect neither would want to risk losing their drive-thrus)

Could have given the North End it’s own little Downtown, or the start to one.
Problem is the bank and second cup need to stand alone for their drive through.

Could have RBC on the left side of the building and Second Cup on the right with a back to front straight drivethru

They are fixing the big M sign today. Sure picked a cold one.

There are some jobs I just would not do.

I was watching them work on the big McD's sign on Friday. Indeed, the thought of a boring desk job seemed pretty sweet seeing those guys up there. The wind chill this morning is minus 25,000 Celsius. I pray they get Saturdays off.

Went to service my Hyundai last week and learned couple tidbits from the service guy

The new expansion is all going to be for the service dept. New express oil change bay, drive in service and more bays. They're also adding an underground tire storage below the new expansion.

The other thing he said that Rallye wanted to build a new building behind Nissan but Hyundai said no cause they don't want to loose the visibility that the existing building has.

I've gone there twice for service. Not cheap, but quality service. I'll use them again and wish them well in their new endeavour.

Good photo of the new Twin Oaks extension, with the Moncton North YMCA visible on the right. Ecole le Sommet is just appreciable in the background through the trees. The paved bicycle trail leading to the school and the YMCA on the right side of the roadway connects directly to the Northwest Trail. Eventually, the entire left hand side of the street will be lined by apartment buildings. Cordova Realty owns this entire frontage.

from Mayor Dawn Arnold's Facebook page

Apparently NB Power will have the light poles installed on the road by the end of December.

as per the above:

The previous dual 18 hole mini golf course will be replaced by four nine hole courses, and apparently there will be room for the new bumper boat attraction as well as a shooting gallery with animatronic targets.

From the Magic Mountain Facebook page:
Quote:
NEW FOR 2020!

We are excited to announce a new development for our GolfZone area. This full renovation will replace the previous courses with four new 9-hole courses and will also allow the addition of Bumper Boats – an entirely new attraction that will be part of our FunZone bracelet package.

The new Bumper Boat attraction will feature battery powered boats that allow a much quieter and cleaner guest experience. Because they are emissions-free, the water can be maintained just like a swimming pool and each boat will include a built-in squirter to allow interactive play. As with all FunZone attractions, Bumper Boats can be enjoyed as part of the FunZone bracelet package or on a pay-per-ride basis.

The new golf courses have been professionally designed by Adventure Golf Services, a firm with over 30 years of experience designing courses all over the world. Each 9-hole course can be purchased individually or as part of a package including all courses. The 4Zone bracelet package will still include mini golf and allow each guest to choose one 9-hole course to play.

The entire area will have a mining/ghost town theme with a large shaded seating area, an interactive electronic shooting gallery with highly themed animatronic targets, and mining sluice so you can pan for your own fossils and gemstones.
The area is slated for completion in early-mid July 2020, weather permitting. Let’s hope for a nice early spring!

Stay tuned and check back here for more updates. SplashZone and FunZone season passes and day passes will be on sale soon at www.magicmountain.ca in time for Christmas gifts.

Tag your friends that will want to try these new attractions!
Magic Mountain and the adjacent zoo are pretty much a complete package in terms of a summer family fun experience. Another couple of rides in the "Fun Zone" would be nice (especially a roller coaster) and, I would love to see a Cows Ice Cream outlet to complement the existing Beavertails
