That is absolutely spectacular! If only it could be 30 feet taller and pass the Sears Tower!

Interesting. Looks like something more out of China's recent supertall boom than North American. Also, it looks like it pairs better with the Trump Tower than the Tribune Tower.

The website has a very detailed .pdf with multiple renderings that I'm sure will be posted here shortly.

I would also be in favor of adding a few floors....I think it's time for a new tallest.

Where was that supposed to go? I'm familiar with that proposal, but I don't know where it would've been.

I thought that too. Come to think of it, this is probably the first American supertall that looks more like a Chinese building.

Sweet view! I particularly like the look of this building from the east/west. I'd love to see this angle with One Chicago Square included as well.

My favorite part of this proposal are the east-west facades. Those gold renderings look awesome but there are also some others where the east-west facades just look blue. Not sure how I feel about the sleek glass walls--they don't seem to invoke the spirit of Tribune Tower very well.

I'd like to see a building more like 9 Dekalb in Brooklyn but the architects in the Trib article say they were reluctant to use a design with any setbacks.

Tribune article said 96 occupied floors. Presumably a few mechanical ones above that then.

^The new tower is mostly apartments and hotel with some condos. In fact the Tribune Tower conversion will have more condo units it looks like.

I presume it's bronze? They did something similar with the Waldorf Astoria in Beijing. Plus 111 W 57th.

I gotta go ahead and say it. I’m not that into it. I think the design is boring.
