If it wasn't for bad luck, this development wouldn't have any luck at all...

the good news is that the last big pour finally happened over the weekend, after being delayed for weeks by the fire..

Hopefully things will finally pick up now that they are on to typical levels.

They have started removing the forms now, and will hopefully move on up to the next level soon..

The One thing that will keep this thread interesting will be if everyone begins their post with, "The One..." or at least incorporate those words into your post in some way.

People go nuts when it comes to Apple Stores. It'll hurt as much as any prime 9000 square foot space in Bloor/Yorkville. The building has several floors of retail.

I just thought I'd give this thread the one post of the month.

Aww... you got me all excited that someone managed to prepare a form for vertical placement to lay the groundwork for starting to get ready to initiate procedures to see if it was time to think about moving towards adding another floor.

They are finally onto typical hotel floors so it should speed up a tiny bit. They are apparently aiming for one floor every 2 weeks.. which still puts topping out 3 years from now.

If topping out is 3 years away, this building isn't going to be doen for a minimum 5 years.
Big RIP.

There are 94 floors here... they have done 7 so far. That puts this at 87 to go - at one every 2 weeks, that puts topping out in 174 weeks, or around July 2025.

Who knows, maybe they'll speed up as they get up there. I imagine the structural requirements will drop on the uppermost levels allowing them to build a bit quicker, but they also have several mechanical levels as the building goes up which will likely take a bit longer.

It's like a giant pound sign with the eight super columns and thick concrete walls running between them. They seem to use much more rebar and formwork on a typical floor than a normal residential building. It was 12 days between the last slab pour and the current wall pour. Now that they're repeating the same layout for each floor they may get some time out of that but still, maybe one floor per week at best?

That's significant progress between the Feb 22 photo update and the March 24 photo update. It felt like it would take another 8 years to top out around Christmas time. 3 years would be golden all things considered.

There's another over 300 metre tower under construction in the city and advancing at a good pace. Last I heard, the 339 metre height is not very well liked. It still could have been approved since so i could be wrong in saying someone jumped the gun with the thread title. (I think koops would have updated the database )

A floor every two weeks is rather slow for the non-winter months.
