For instance, if you look on street view at the NW corner of Lake and Halsted, there was a 1 story restaurant built in 2010/11, then a second story added in 2017/8, and then the whole building demolished around 2020 for a
new hotel. Obviously the hotel market is a little shaky, but I just thought it was a good example of how something "permanent" in this area doesn't mean much. And having a dining area that will activate that parcel in the meantime before it's developed is a good thing.
