I politely disagree. The demand for Manhattan real estate, Manhattan penthouses, and views of both The City and Central Park is absolutely insatiable.
It just takes a developer with a vision that thinks he can make it profitable. Maybe it will be the G Man or the Qataris. Who knows.
Central Park Tower will probably look short in 20 years.
I could see a 3,000 foot tower in New York. Unlike most of the first world, the NIMBYs have limited control here because of the way the air rights work and the power of the real estate lobby. They tried to stop Billionaires' Row, after all.
