High Street Residential tops out on Upper Kirby apartment community near River Oaks

By Jeff Jeffrey – Senior reporter, Houston Business Journal
Apr 9, 2024

High Street Residential, the residential subsidiary of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co., has topped out construction on Rone Residences, a 12-story multifamily community along Westheimer Road where River Oaks meets Upper Kirby.

Rone Residences, at 2311 Westheimer, is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2025 and will offer 209 apartment units. The project broke ground in March 2023, replacing a 1960s-era strip center.

High Street Residential is building the project via a joint venture with Osaka, Japan-based Daiwa House Industry Co. Ltd.

Other companies working on the project include Jordan & Skala Engineering, VSM-Squared Structural Engineers, Kimley Horn and Jackson Walker LLP. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Ltd. is providing construction financing.

“Our Rone Residences development is at a superlative location in Houston — at the convergence of two of the city’s most prestigious neighborhoods, where walkability and convenience is top of mind for current and future residents,” Yewande Fapohunda of HSR’s Houston office said in a statement.

“The building’s prominence in this area is bolstered by a team of esteemed design consultants, whose design creativity was grounded in the aesthetic vocabulary of the historic River Oaks neighborhood.”
