Yes.

Agreed. It'll rise just to the left of Frost from that vantage point.

Yeah, I just get the idea that 6x will still dominate the skyline more than what 98 Red River will, especially from this perspective, despite it being the taller one. Or even coming down from South Congress, you won't even be able to see 98 Red River.

The elevation changes are going to play a role, but I think 98 Red River will still be a monster.

98 Red River - 1,034 feet tall - site ranges from 450 to 465 feet above sea level. Total height above mean sea level - 1,489 feet.

6 X Guadalupe - 883 feet tall - site ranges from 477 feet to 497 feet above sea level. Total height above mean sea level - 1,372 feet.

So, even though 98 Red River will be 151 feet taller than 6 X Guadalupe, it'll only appear 117 feet taller than 6 X Guadalupe when viewed from a distance. I think the difference is small enough that most people won't notice.

Agreed. I was trying to make that point to a friend of mine. But I didn't have the elevation details to explain it.

It's pretty obvious looking at some of these photos just how much 6x will stand out, that 98 Red River will not be lonely up there.

10 Years and One New Skyline Later, Waterloo Park Returns on August 14

Quote:
After closing to the public in 2011 for work expected at the time to last until 2015 but extended to comical length by the construction woes of the Waller Creek Flood Control Tunnel, followed by the development of a plan for the 11-acre park’s renovation by the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy, the single largest greenspace in downtown Austin is finally, actually, really reopening for real on Saturday, August 14.

Arent those hideous parking garages supposed to be torn down and replaced with something? I thought I remember seeing something from forever ago about future Capitol grounds area redevelopment.

I thought that was the plan too, although I think some of them may be in CVCs?
