We've thrown in the towel not only on this season but on this ERA. Big exciting changes to come.
Exciting changes.... the Canucks get to rebuild from the rebuild of their half rebuild?

Bobby Hull just died. His abuse to his wives was terrible. At the same time he would spend countless hours spending time with kids signing autographs and he did almost single handily bring pro hockey to the praries. Very much a mixed bag as a person.

Yup, I grew up during the Glory days. All the big names back then.

Quite the roller-coaster of a year for the Sens, on and off the ice. Will be interesting where we end up in April, on so many levels.

Sounds like some big changes coming to the Sens ownership sooner rather then later.

Groups interested in the Sens now have access to the team's books. We should find out more around March. LeBreton deal is set to close in the Fall, at least, between the team and the NCC.

Bo was a nice guy but we didn't go anywhere while he was captain.
Time for the next era.

Seems Jets kryptonite is playing Eastern Conference teams.

Seems to be a theme with Canada’s teams. The Leafs were perpetually rebuilding, now struggling to get out of the first round. Same with the Oilers. Sens are perpetually bad.

As for Horvat, I see it as a big loss. When he was drafted, he was touted as a playoff performer, and he showed that in the bubble year. You new guys like him in the playoffs. He still had lots of good years left on a team with Pettersson, Hughes, Demko, and now Kuzmenko. Not a long haul rebuild needed to be done here.

That said, this draft could be huge for Vancouver Probly top 6 pick, and a 15ish overall pick in a deep draft.

Leafs never truly had a proper rebuild until 2015.

The best teams in the East are quite a bit better than the teams in the West right now. In order to face a Seattle level team that would be the New York Rangers and not any of Carolina, Tampa Bay, Boston, New Jersey, Toronto. Outside of a healthier Colorado and Dallas no one else in the West is coming up as a Stanley Cup winner to me.

^ meh. Ignoring the recent shitty play for the Jets - I am not sure what Dallas has that's better than the Jets - besides overtime losses (10!!!)

Carey Price selling his home and moving his family to Kelowna. Media making a big deal out of this for some reason.

True. They aren't much better, if at all, than Winnipeg. They are at least reasonable defensively unlike a lot of Western teams. Which I think says everything about the West. There's a whole lot of meh. Unless Colorado figures it out, it is anyone's title this year and the playoffs should be pretty close to flipping coins trying to figure out who would win every night.

Vancouver has to re-sign Pettersson to a long-term contract - far from a sure thing. Demko may have bad hips so his best days (which really weren't as great as Canucks fans make them out to be) may be behind them. They opted for signing an aging toxic player to a long-term contract instead of trading him and signing Horvat long-term. The defense is one of the worst in the league with only one top-4 d-man.

The Canucks are likely years away from contending for a playoff spot. That's what happens when draft poorly and trade away draft picks like Benning did. With Canada's worst owner in Aquilini I am skeptical the Canucks will take the proper methodical approach to building a complete team.
