First Interstate was indeed bought out by Wells Fargo, but that doesn't mean the deeds on paper change as far as the County Recorder is concerned. First Interstate Bank of Arizona likely continues to exist as a paper holding company for those old assets like the now-Wells Fargo Tower.

There could even be a "lease" but it's just playground equipment for lawyers and accountants when a large corporation could have hundreds of "subsidiaries" under its belt.

In any event, WF does own the properties. It's probably just easier to distill it down to employees saying "our lease is up" rather than "corporate is moving us into the hinterlands."

Great News for Offices Downtown

Despite the bad sounding news about Wells Fargo we have an office expansion downtown and a new lease in midtown.

Great news for our submarket in a time of destroyed commercial property.

The largest provider of outpatient imaging services in the United States is significantly expanding its presence in Arizona through a new lease at Park Central in Phoenix. RadNet, Inc. (NASDAQ: RDNT), a national leader in providing high-quality, cost-effective, fixed-site outpatient diagnostic imaging services, has signed a new lease for a 24,000-square-foot space in the Strauss Building at Park Central. The new space is part of an ongoing commitment by RadNet and its partner Dignity Health, which is part of CommonSpirit Health, to provide high-quality imaging services to targeted medical communities and patient populations.

RadNet, through Dignity Health – Arizona Diagnostic Radiology, will provide a full-service imaging clinic including MRI, CT, Nuclear Imaging and Mammography at the Park Central location, meeting a key need for the local medical community.

Norman Hames, President and Chief Operating Officer with RadNet said that the Park Central location in the emerging medical hub of central Phoenix is an ideal fit for the company’s new center of excellence.

“Park Central is becoming known as one of the most important intersections in the medical and technology fields in the region, and it is the perfect spot for this new comprehensive imaging center,” Hames said. “We look forward to enjoying the synergies we will experience with medical partners in the area such as Dignity Health and many more.”

Sharon Harper, Chairman and CEO of Plaza Companies, one of the co-developers of Park Central, said RadNet’s presence at Park Central will further strengthen the healthcare profile of the property while providing new access for patients in central Phoenix to access key services.

“We are very pleased to welcome RadNet to Park Central and look forward to seeing how RadNet will grow and thrive as part of this vital mixed-use environment,” Harper said. “RadNet has significant plans to grow its presence in Arizona and this new facility at Park Central will enhance that presence while providing another important healthcare amenity for the region.”

Plaza Companies and Tucson’s Holualoa Companies have teamed up to redevelop Park Central into a vibrant destination, which once was the city’s first official large-scale shopping mall. The companies have transitioned the expansive space from a retail center to an almost 500,000-square-foot bustling community hub ideal for playing, working, congregating and celebrating the arts.

Stan Shafer, Chief Operating Officer for Holualoa Companies, said RadNet will become an important part of the Park Central project, which already serves as home to such high-profile medical entities as Dignity Health, DMG Medical Group, Creighton University’s Health Sciences Campus and West Coast Ultrasound Institute.

“RadNet is another great example of how Park Central is creating a substantial impact on healthcare in the region,” he said. “And it shows how Park Central is emerging as a key factor in creating a healthcare ecosystem in central Phoenix that features some of the finest providers and organizations in the country.”

For office leasing, tenants and brokers can reach out to Andrew Cheney with Lee & Associates (602.954.3769) or Bill Cook with Plaza Companies (623.344.4526). For Retail leasing contacts are Brent Mallonee with Cushman and Wakefield (602.224.4437) or Margaret Lloyd with Plaza Companies (623.344.4558).

RED Development announced today that Western Alliance Bank is once again expanding its foothold at CityScape Phoenix after signing a lease to add an additional 46,323 square feet to its existing headquarters.
When Western Alliance Bank first opened within CityScape in 2010, the main office and its local banking division, Alliance Bank of Arizona, was comprised of just one branch that occupied a single floor. Fast forward to today, the financial organization has grown significantly, making seven amendments over the years, to now hold two lease agreements with RED Development. While the changes brought Western Alliance Bank’s headquarters to approximately 155,000 square feet across six floors, this latest milestone will also create 110 new seats to accommodate new part-time, remote and contract employees, as well as offering meeting rooms.

“This expansion allows us to increase valuable working and collaborative spaces for our employees and clients in an easily accessible, highly desirable centralized building that has become a key silhouette of the Phoenix skyline,” said Don Garner, CEO of Alliance Bank of Arizona. “From spaces for interns, contractors, potential new hires and remote-working employees to increased conference spaces and huddle rooms that allow us to safely gather and develop creative solutions for our clients, the new space in CityScape’s Western Alliance Bank building will round out our approximately 155,000-square-foot footprint and accommodate our future growth and ability to better serve clients.”

As the state’s largest locally -headquartered banking division, Alliance Bank of Arizona offers a full spectrum of loan, deposit and treasury management capabilities, plus superior service. With nine offices in greater Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff, the banking division is a valued resource for Arizona’s business, real estate, professional, municipal and nonprofit communities.

“The commercial real estate industry is on the rise in Downtown Phoenix and this agreement is a testament to Western Alliance Bank being among the first tenants at CityScape to believe in our vision of making the mixed-use center the ultimate destination to live, work and play in the area,” said Jeff Moloznik, vice president of development at RED Development. “It’s been our pleasure to accommodate and help foster the growth of the bank from the beginning and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship in the years to come.”

Thanks for the info. If they do sell the Plaza, hopefully whomever purchases it does an extensive renovation.

I saw this exterior restoration/renovation on the San Antonio board.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/sho...26&postcount=5

I hope we can do the same with a couple of our buildings. Although we don't have any as tall, and the previous historic facade may no longer be underneath our buildings, the potential/feasibility of seeing something like this gives hope.

Where did you find it at? The last couple of permits I could find were submitted on 1/05.

Not sure if you're searching by address, but they've used a few different listed addresses for the plan review documents. If you search by the project number, 19-2533, the final plan review should come up as LPRN 2100924.

Yep, I always use project numbers for searches. The LPRN was one of the ones I mentioned that was issued on 1/05 and I already knew about it. I was thinking there was another final review of some type when Chestnut posted. My bad.

I am hearing from the grapevine that Skye may break ground as soon as the 1st or 2nd week of March. I think this will be our next major ground-breaking Downtown as Central Station still has nada submitted in the way of permits.

No rumor, it was confirmed the hotel component was removed. My response is wishful thinking.

Lol, my wishful thinking too. But no hotel unfortunately. Sunsfan87 posted a couple links to city docs on the Central Station thread that could shed light on what could be causing the delay. But it's bothering me that the fence has been up for 3 1/2 months now and I have not seen a single worker on the lot and I pass Central Station on average of twice per day. Not too mention there has not been any permits or plan reviews submitted since last May.

I posted this because the LPRN was issued 2/9.

I definitely was looking in a different spot. When you open the LPRN it shows issued 2/09, so not sure why it shows 1/05 when you look at the permits overview. I do know it's been sitting there since 1/05. So I guess Phoenix just approved it on 2/09 and it was submitted on 1/09? If so, Phoenix probably should rename that column to submitted date instead of issued date. That's where the mix-up occurred. Thanks for opening it and letting us know. Guess I should open these more often

Moon Tower continues to edge forward--site plan review scheduled for the 17th.

https://www.phoenix.gov/cityclerksit.../210217006.pdf

Anyone here ever attended one of these as a member of the public? I'm not sure if I want to take this dumb hobby to that level of obsessiveness, haha, but on the other hand I am curious in what way they are providing "electronic" public access to these ostensibly public meetings.

I'm not familiar with the Moon Tower project, is it in the lot that the Atari building was supposed to go or was that the Meow Wolf hotel?
