Here's a couple of pics from Hotel Shediac. As of today July 7th, foundation hasn't started yet. By the height of the crane, it looks like the hotel is going to be the remain originally planned.

I noticed the other day that there is a sign for a large apartment building to be built on Cassie ave, on the lot between the dollar store and Caissie avenue (the corner of Donat Extension and Caissie). They have cleared the trees around the house that was there. It looks to be a significant structure, I'll stop by at lunch and snap a picture and take a closer look.

I decided to drive out to Shediac and see for myself. The new crane is not a traditional tower crane like the one being used to build the new Hotel Shediac. It is a smaller crane, similar to this one currently being used at a development in Riverview:

Alas, I didn't take any pictures at all. The image I posted was of the crane used to erect one of the condos at The Villas at Brydon Brook, near Findlay Park in Riverview. I used it because it is an identical crane.

Don't make me drive to Shediac myself.

Wow! You mean Moncton is building things tall enough for a crane to be useful ... I didn't think parking lots needed one but I guess I'm wrong!

But seriously its nice to see some more significant things going up across Southern New Brunswick.

Just a quick update on Hotel Shediac, it appears that they have completed the pouring of concrete and it is indeed 6 stories. I'll try and get some pictures today at lunch or tomorrow (I may not get a lunch break today).
I'll also get some pictures of the condo development and put them up.

Took this image today as I was driving by, the rest of the pictures I took didn't turn out so I'll try again tomorrow when I'm less rushed. This is the back of the hotel, and as you can see from the pictures its only 6 stories and they have started framing in.

Photo taken by me, from my iPhone.

Here are a couple of photos from today showing the Hotel Shediac topped out at six floors. It will be quite an addition to the downtown area.

It's pretty bizarre driving into Shediac and seeing two cranes on the horizon!

In the T&T today that Shediac is planning on a major expansion to the town boundaries. They are eyeing doubling the size of the town by expanding south of route 15. They are also expanding slightly to the west of route 11.

Apparently negotiations with the province are progressing favourably and they expect a final decision within the month.

Also, the article stated that the town is considering a future annexation of the Scoudouc Industrial Park.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, since this thread deals exclusively with Shediac developments, and there is already a seperate thread for Sackville, I wonder if the thread should not simply be renamed [Moncton] Shediac Developments
