I believe he means the crane will be taller than Link I, not the actual Link II building.

The crane at full height will be 340'. Right now it's at about 270'. The jib clears Link 1 with no problem so it doesn't need to be taller than it too function. Also, the crane used is the same model as the one being used for Kenect.

So, I spoke to the construction crew for Link 2 and there IS a construction cam on top of Link 1 facing down on the construction site. The workers I spoke with did acknowledge it's a construction camera and was setup for Link 2, but they did not know the web address. I've exhausted my search on all the contractors websites and can't find the link. I even went into the Link lobby (which looks really nice FTR) and as expected, they did not know anything about the camera. So if any of you webcam guru's have an idea of where to find the construction cam link, here's your shot! I'm not sure where else to look aside from emailing the developer, but I've never had luck getting responses for those kinds of questions

I wish we could ban above ground parking for these highrises! They link looks so lame at the bottom. I guess without all these new highrises would be even smaller though! Is it really that much cheaper to build that way? I assume so!

Building the hole in the ground takes so dang long though. It was like a year before Block 23 rose out the ground, in the mean time this building was rising within a couple months! I do like how the Stewart at least hides the parking in the front of the building with apartments units going all the way down to the 3rd floor above the lobby.

Talk about density. I drove by here yesterday and the building is maybe a few feet from touching Proxy. Those poor residents facing south at proxy will have no light coming in and a view of a parking garage, possibly car lights shining in when someone is parking. I got a burger from Jackapole Gastro Pub, they had a 8 dollar burger and fries special, real good burger, I had a beer while I waited and BS’ed about COVID. Apparently Punch Bowl Socials backers is Cracker Barrel and they backed out due to COVID. So apparently they are completely finished and ready but will not open. I also heard rent there is about 66K a month, wow, that’s insane.

And another!

I like that this will likely be one of the densest city blocks in the nation.

Thanks Kevinp!

Does anyone else feel this one is crawling? Every week or so I’m at Skyline Lofts and it seems like this project hasn’t made much progress. Is it the parking structure that takes so long to build?

Yes it does! Going really slowly compared to first tower. Same with Adeline!

Keep in mind that yes the garage takes the longest. Also, remember that they had the Link 2 Lot to stage on for the Link 1 build. This lot is surrounded with not much of any staging area and buildings on all sides. I think this makes progress slower and requires more caution and noise abatement for residents on either side.

A week and a half later here too. Not a serious difference from the 13th.

It's kind of crazy to believe we have not 1, but 2 towers going up side by side here. Really cool! I hope that the surrounding low slung areas begin to fill up with renters, students, those that need roommates and the pedestrian population counts begin to increase.

The Garfield neighborhood seems very prime for house flippers to move in and turn properties.
