Figure it out. Maybe have people go in and out for 2 weeks like loads of other jobs. Pay them accordingly. Build a proper, new hospital.

There are endless patient transfers from the north to Winnipeg. Surely some of that cost can be spent on paying people wages.

Just throwing up our hands at the problem is laughable. It is a problem. I'd be interested to see what Pallisters plan is/was for the north. They're spending big dollars in Portage and Brandon.

Super close to me. the NICU. The north absolutely NEEDS one. Patients are in NICU's in Winnipeg from allover the north. They already cycle through doctors on a weekly basis in the NICU. Nurses need some training. Some pretty basic. Some more specialized. Nevermind the toll on families being in the south.

They're not being flown to Winnipeg for basic medical services. They're being flown there for surgery and to see SPECIALISTS. Let's start with cardiology (30% of medevacs). Good luck establishing a cardiac unit in a place like Thompson. The amount of infrastructure and resources it takes to establish a unit which is fully staffed by people who are in incredibly high demand across the country would be nearly impossible. That's JUST cardiology! It's cheaper to medevac. Period!

They have difficulty retaining high end medical specialists in Winnipeg never mind pretending anyone would be attracted to work in the North!

And why wouldn’t the province spend in Brandon, second biggest city that serves all of western Manitoba!

Charging vehicles for Hydro would be as easy as a snap of a finger.
So we stop exporting power then?

WINNIPEG - An aerospace company says it’s getting ready to launch a hypersonic space plane in Manitoba, with plans to send tourists toward the stars and crews to the moon within five years.

Space Engine Systems President and Chief Technology Officer Pradeep Dass says they found an airport in the northwestern region of the province that can accommodate test flights for their working spacecraft engine prototype. Dass explains they’re teaming up with the Lynn Lake Airport, 13 hours north of Duck Mountain Provincial Park, to demonstrate how their Canadian-made technology performs in the air. The Edmonton-based company is currently completing full-scale testing of its proprietary DASS ramjet engine system.

I tried to see if this was some kid of a joke, but I couldn't see anything in the article that obviously said "your leg is being pulled, sucker". Weird to think a Canadian company may be trying to get into the commercial space scene. If it's true I wish them luck.

One last time on the Hospital. My point was there needs to be a proper medical facility in the north.

Sick about the space plane if that were to actually happen! Bring back rockets to Churchill and we're golden.

Ya the runway is. Just talking about the rockets that used to be in Churchill too. There's always tire kickers looking for launch space in Canada. Commercial space industry is booming now. Manitoba getting in on the action would be awesome, especially for the north.

Looks nice. Elements of this are similar to The Williston in Harbour Landing, which I must say is quite nice.

I agree the Williston is amazing. It is a Marwest (Winnipeg) project All the older folks I know there ask why the waited until they were in their 80's to move in there. They are building a version in Kelowna right now.

Williston, Regina:
