^ stunning shot (good find Drew).

The One | 338.3m | 94s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners l u/c

From Urban Toronto member skycandy, the first smokey glass glazing going up on the left, just as promised by the cladding mock-up seen a long time back. Look forward to seeing the ‘champagne’ cladding on the super-columns
(these 2 tones should look great together).

“Sky candy” indeed.

skycandy

skycandy

skycandy

You can see the metal angle in this glass which will host angled ‘champagne’ exterior cladding as well (same as the super-columns)... to echo the steel hanger support behind.

UT

EDITED TO ADD:

With more added, you can see the location of the angled ‘champagne’ cladding to be installed (with the steel hanger behind).

The one is now moving several floor past it's first mech level so it's finally into it's residential floors in it's so called Low-Rise section. According to https://onebloorwest.com they only have 13 units left to sell in the upper floors of the tower. As it usually goes with high end units they take a while to sell. 1 king West's Penthouse took years to sell. It was even used for a reality show while it sat ownerless. I could see units in this tower being used for movie shoots until they are all sold.

The One (glazing):

Couldn’t resist… some gorgeous close-ups of the glazing. Got say that Sam is keeping his (render) promises big time.

There has been progress made, but I havent stepped foot in that area in a long long time. I was accompanying my mother to the market today, so I couldn't go for a walk around there. I'll take a look in the coming weeks however.

A hint of what colourful curtain-wall magic we’ll see when the tower is fully clad.

Man this will be stunning when the ‘champagne’ cladding is added to the angled hangers and super-columns. Easily my favourite glass (curtain-wall) on a residential building in the city.

So far it's office tower quality, I can't wait to see some of the columns covered to get a better feel of how it will look.

The first curved white steel for the (curvy and angled) crown which will be much taller than the core at its pinnacle on the west side of the tower. The galvanized angled steel seen below may be support for the big TD sign/logo that will live here.

It was a long wait but spectacular curtain-wall is back with a vengence in the city, with the CIBC Square diamonds (x 2 towers), The One’s beautiful silver/bronze glass just beginning, the curves and finned curtain-wall of HPA’s 19 Duncan… and of course the best suprise of all… 160 Front Street West.

Since no-one is here anyway, I’ll honour the skills of UT photographer Red Mars with even more shots of this beauty… worth seeing and perhaps the finest yet of the other thousand photos LOL.
