I agree. I don't know why people are so triggered by it.

I'm ball-ambivalent. But I do find it a bit funny they're using a ball design the MLS doesn't use.

Edit/Add: I'm ambivalent now. Before I actually did worry that it let opponents cast the station as a giveaway to Austin FC (who honestly was a big donor) instead of the station serving the entirety of the Southern half of North Burnet Gateway (once Kramer moves north to Broadmoor).

We did another drone flight of the stadium very late this afternoon (11/8/2020-Sunday)

Here is the link:

https://1drv.ms/f/s!AmeEiheXNMgOgv6YBdKE1Y3jGkdrI6E

The flights were around 4:47 pm, so the sun was very low in the sky. This made for some interesting shadows inside of the stadium.

Cheers!

Good update.

Apple would be cool for a stadium sponsor. It would pair well with the club crest being a tree and the Verde theme. It could be called "The Apple." Rolls off the tongue well. "At the Apple tonight Austin FC beat the Portland Timbers..."

Ah, no. The Oak is the symbol of the team. Apple buying the naming rights to the stadium - absolutely. But, don't call the stadium: "The Apple."

On another note: The team's kit will be unveiled a week from today. Stay tuned!

I wonder if it'll be branded like the Mercedes stadium in ATL?

I would be surprised if they didn't have some sort of naming agreement. Lots of money in that. Even some college stadiums do that now.

It 100% will have a corporate sponsor whose name will be painted in giant letters on the canopy so you can read it from a plane.

Apple logo would look cool illuminated at night. Andy Loughnane said the sponsor will be either a company headquartered in Austin or a company with a very large local presence.
