They should just turn it into one of those adult big-toy playgrounds.

Support beams appearing in the northwest, and it looks like some excavation in the southeast.

Height change?

So Skyscraper Center finally added The W/Element to their Philly buildings list earlier this week. http://skyscrapercenter.com/city/philadelphia

One interesting thing to note is that they have this building topping off at 617'. That would be a gain of 35', if accurate. Now it could just be an error, but the other info on the building is consistent with the info we have (51 floors; 2017 completion, etc).

I will point out that the site still has SLS at the old propsed height of 562', when the last (and hopefully current) proposal was 590'.

Hmmm... that would be great if true so we could get a second 600 footer. Maybe Lenfest could shed some light on this. Whether this is accurate or incorrect information I don't know.

It's an error. Lenfest has said in this thread that the max permitted building height is 582'.

I do recall him saying that a while back, but I'm curious to what exactly dictated the maximum height. Zoning? The agreement with the developer of the neighboring property (RATR)? If its the developers agreement, I imagine that certain terms could be waived by the other party, like height ...

From the horse's mouth. I have always assumed he was talking about zoning.

I have a relatively basic PDF of the new design but can't find a way to post it here. I'm sure it will be out there sooner or later. Paul Levy is going to put it in his next Center City report.

The redesign has put us back to July or August for breaking ground.

This really appears to have made almost zero progress. What a mess the underground must be.

"I think we've been out of sync a few times. But we have the right guys. And we're doing the right things. We just need to execute better.

I've seen us move dirt. I saw us move dirt in Washington, I saw us move dirt in Atlanta, I saw us move dirt in New York. I have confidence in this group. We just have to do it on a more consistent basis."

I'm as frustrated as the next guy with the pace here, but that's just cold, comparing this project with the Eagles' season. Blenfest deserves better.

No, the Eagles right now are more like the Free Library expansion. What Free Library expansion?

Exactly.

In order to get a boost, it would be great to get this Macrotermes develop group in Philly to get this project done. There heavy hitters Im told.

When i go by this site I continue not to see any dump trucks which is all you need to know about how much excavation is going on. At least they are still placing piles around the perimeter. It definitely seems like the limited space on site is slowing them up, the pieces of machinery are almost bumping into each other due to the site constraints.
