Do you have inside info? Would be amazing to get another spired supertall giant on 42nd.

No, it was just an indication for the design of Skyy.

I think they have like a couple hundred thousand square ft of air rights more than one Vanderbilt, so this will definitely rise to be taller

NO, I haven't missed the point. My point is/was that it's a proper use of the train image because the point of the rendering wasn't to make an exact model, and secondly, the MTA uses similar trains.

One Vanderbilt was a very specific design, it could have very well been shorter, and at one point in the process was. Both 50 Hudson and the Spiral are much larger buildings, though they have larger footprints. This footprint will be slightly large than Vandy's. However, I do believe that they will go higher than Vandy, and probably by a decent margin. I think it's likely to be higher than 270 Park also.

We're still talking about this?

Holly mother of god that’s amazing! Chicago has a similar elevator button tower btw and it looks fine lol then again 3WTC eliminated the cross braces for cost and maximum views, they might do the same here

No, I helped him make the 3d model for renders. It's basically his vision of the lighting, but I'd love it to look something close to this

I believe that this is how it will be illuminated at night.

^^^^

That would kind of a cool lighting scheme for 270 Park. Not Vegas style, but a mild intensity of strength in a vertical fashion from base to crown. Almost like a amber-like hue would look wicked.

Although if the lighting turns out in a fashion like in post #1429, its going to be epic at night.

I'd be happy with just a nice crown lighting.

Went back to look at some of the planning for the demo and construction of the new building (below), as far as scheduling goes. Looks like they are a minimum 3 months to as much as a year behind this planning chart, but are current in terms of actual schedule. They could actually end up moving ahead of schedule if demo is going well. But the new building is now planned to begin oonstruction in early 2021. The new building permit was filed in June of this year, and should be granted sometime in the next year, while demo is continuing.

The actual permit filings are here...
