Great shots as always Solar. I was at a friends rooftop and 727 W Madison might be the most stunning glass project in the city right now. I tried to snap a picture but pictures (especially zoomed in on my phone) can't do it justice.

This thing is a stunner from the Kennedy and a clunker from Halsted. So I guess it sort of balances out

I have nothing on some of you guys. Always amazed by the photography talent and level of construction/architectural knowledge on this forum. Keeps me coming back at least couple times a week to learn more and see progress! They're not all perfect in this boom but it's an exciting time to be in Chicago!

The tower looks so good but what the hell were they thinking with that parking garage. It's like they ran out of money. The glass doesn't match at all.

IIRC - from 435 N Clark - the glass siding kills 2 birds with one material - blocks visibility of the cars (Chicago) -and- provides natural light (LEED)

I wonder if a time will come when the garage structure is redeveloped, perhaps as part of a change to the adjacent hotel site

In the coming decades parking garages will go the way of coach houses. They'll still dot the built environment, but as repurposed structures.

No idea what they'll do with the long gradual ramps that make up the podium of the ubiquitous 40 story flat plate concrete condo tower. Terrace them and turn them into livable space?

Sterling Bay said that the garages for their upcoming West Loop office buildings have been built to be compatible for future conversion to something else.

Yeah Sterling Bay is literally the last company you can talk shit about. They've literally don't everything they said they were going to and, let's face it, most of what they have done would have been considered downright absurd 10 years ago.

urban farming would be cool - maybe more for a stand alone parking garage than a condo towner parking garage
