Tallest, nothing to do with elevation.

The only other "twins" I can think of that are very tall are the Manhattan West Towers which aren't the exact same height.

Liberty Place in Philly doesn't count either since they're fraternal

Now i am curious...do we already have the highest quadruple towers in the US? There can't be a ton of 50 floor quad towers in the us.

If Related is planning to build these separately I would not be surprised to see some change in the second one before it's built. It's pretty rare for twins to get completed at all and often one gets built and the second becomes something else.

No actually the Presidential Towers are just barely edged out by Detroit's RenCen

It just sounds like you are desperate for conflict. Instead of flat out trying to correct the person, I needed to make sure first what they meant in case I missed something.

What's more, Detroit's RenCen is still the nation's 2nd tallest hotel by structural height, and the tallest by floor count, despite being 43 years old.

Is there some upcoming deadline associated with this project? I hope that this gets built. It's utterly spectacular.

I think Related has to start on the first (taller) tower this upcoming year because there is a deadline associated with the site.

Some (probably pointless) traffic study is being done when its completed, then the second tower will start mid-decade.

That's the plan so far, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It's phased; the first supposedly *should* break ground later this year and the second will get going a bit after the first is completed (late '23 or '24)

Checked out Related Midwest's Website on 400 LSD.

The website itself got a bit of an update.
Nothing new about the towers except for a 2024 completion date (I'm guessing for the north tower).

Also, there's a Youtuber that I watch that talks about abandoned places and developments and he just made a video about the Chicago Spire.

I recommend you check it out.

Hopefully they ditch that stupid traffic study and build both (North Tower will probably start this year I'm assuming?)

Isn’t there a deadline coming up that was imposed by the city? If so, I assume that it will be extended. I love these towers.

I'm not aware of that. The PD has a sunset for Subparcel E.3 in 2026. I guess Brendan Reilly could introduce a repeal earlier than that, but I don't see why he would do that after only one year, after spending several years on the negotiations.

Honestly they should look at another developer, I don’t get why this city is the birth place of the skyscraper but yet we ain’t cracking the top 5 or 10. They’re putting two buildings that’s 875 and 765ft , why just have one mega building 2,100ft in the air. It will sell. You’re pretty much getting the whole view of Chicago. And the building location is in the mouth of the Chicago river
