I kind of like the jumbled, organic accretion of different buildings built in different styles over different decades. It isn't hiding what it is, which is a gradually-expanding, functional campus.

For $141 mil, it should be the best.

I'm at the hospital at least weekly now with my son and the wife expecting #2. They're in the process of tearing down the old brick building that was out from on Tache. Almost gone now.

The current layout for vehicle access is not the greatest. I don't even think you're allowed to drive up to the front doors of Emerg. At least no parking for sure. Only emerg vehicles. The new entrance looks much better. Ambulances enter underground.

There is a video of the renders I posted elsewhere last week. will find that again.

Video is here.
https://stbonifacehospital.ca/ed-project/

I notice in the video they show another building in the parkings lots to the south of emerg. Haven't seen anything proposed there IIRC. Maybe it's just filler. That lot is blocked off now, I assume for construction laydown.

I wonder what the status of the office and parkade development across the street is.

Another thing about the feel of the disjointed expansion over time.

When my son was in the NICU, there were some windows that looked out over the back area of the hospital. Great views of downtown. But also it's an old and interesting little streetscape back there. It's the maintenance shops and such. But has a turn of the century industrial type feel to it.

^ That's unfortunate. It would have been such a boost for Tache. Is it shelved forever or is there a chance the developer could try again soon?

Tough to know. Usually I hear the words "on hold" so when I heard cancelled it sounded terminal.

So this was by a developer, but the hospital owns the land? I think the hospital owns the current parkade. I cant remember. I assume at some point the hospital would try again.

The brochure is taken down. Maybe someone can dig it out from the internets.

Still this video up.

Link to a rendering of the sign. "Pregame" is the prominent word on the logo. So I'd say it's called Pregame.

It's nice something is going back in that space that will be open late and such.

Im still waiting for something better than a gravel lot to be built next door. That last plan was nice but I think it could be even better, so much potential on Provencher. There’s no good reason that it’s remained so stagnant.
