demo soon. Construction later this summer, fingers crossed.

It's evolved really nicely. I'm excited too.

Good to have it from the horse's mouth. That giant For Lease sign was beginning to get me worried it was still a year or more out.

Ha ha. Yes. It’s starting to demo all on its own.

Looks like the front of the building is now all tarped. Guessing they're doing some interior demolition or asbestos abatement prior to demolition? I live around the corner from this -- it's going to be very nice to see go up!

^ Nice. What an improvement that will be over what's currently there.

Looking at Vike’s twitter and seeing the apparent current rendering of the Zü building….it looks way out of place for the village in terms of design. It’s like a shorter whiter version of the Halo Towers. No likey.

The south facing side isn’t so bad, now that I actually clicked the link and looked through multiple angles. Dislike the north side look, the skinny window white metal cladding thing.

Between Zu and 197 Osborne, the south village is going to have a really different feel in a couple years.

Yeah, wow. I agree. It looks like the kind of wall that would be abutting a neighbouring building. Maybe some day it will once the WFPS moves out of the current fire hall location, but that is going to be a very prominent wall and it won't look all that great relative to the rest of the complex.

I suspect that's exactly what they are doing. Probably future-proofing against a 375 Stradbrook situation.

Ah yeah eh, that makes sense. I forgot about that eventuality.

I believe demo is supposed to start today for this development.
