Nice to see an update from the Plaza 104 development. Developers behind it don't seem to have much experience though. Really hope they start moving on this Centre Block project.

Bear Creek Park Grandstand

From Fast+Epp twitter Jan 30th.

We are so excited about the opening of the Bear Creek Athletics Centre in Surrey, BC, this spring.
The 2,200-seat grandstand includes a sizable floating roof made of reclaimed lumber from a locally demolished toy store.

In Surrey, a slow transformation

Unable to sell a building (Linea) at $450 a sq ft, now Sequoia across the street is 80% sold at $1100-$1400 a sq ft

Market seems strong, I believe it's around 80% sold to begin construction nowadays, no? Or maybe just a marketing gimmick.

This project by Oviedo has been named BridgeCity, sales centre is currently underconstruction. This will be a very busy year with Skyliving, Juno, Parksville 96, Concord Piano, Georgetown 3, and Parkway 2 being just a few of the projects that will be launching. I also heard Wesgroup wants to start construction on Phase 1 of their Civic District project by January.

Interesting, the Avani tower presentation centre is currently being used as a centre for RDG's project 'Guilden' in Guildford.

Was snooping around and can see that Wesgroup seems to be planning on switching their Civic District project from 4x 60-70 storey towers to a 60, 61, 60, 13 storey development. 200 less residential units but will include a hotel.

is the Civic District going where the old Safeway is on 104 and KGH?

Where is Parksville96 going? I keep seeing ads for it but cannot figure it out.

Parksville 96

Apparently yes, Civic District will be on the old Safeway site (the most I learned on that part of Wesgroup's site is they really like the word District - otherwise it was a waste of time so I'm not going to bother linking to it).

I am curious if Surrey is going to mirror Delta's towers along Scott road.
