And I'd agree with you, if most of the density weren't planned for 152nd and 160th, and the SkyTrain on 165th; they could have it do a 160th-Fraser-168th route, but then where does it go from there? It's farmland and golf courses all the way to Cloverdale, and Newton or White Rock are definitely off the table.

144th works... on a local level, not a regional one. I'm not trying to start anything, I just don't see any other N-S arterial for the suggested express bus network other than 152nd, and even that's dicey.

The problem isn't N-S bus routes in Surrey - it's the lack of E-W bus routes. New Skytrain stations on Fraser Hwy will give an anchor to one end of a route while the other end can travel across Surrey (and possibly N Delta) or to Carvolth Exchange in Langley.

Actually it dead ends over 4 blocks south of Fraser Hwy.

More likely they'll keep the 325 on 140th and the 341 on 144th (broken up by Green Timbers park) and 148th between Newton and Guildford.

Yeah 152nd is the main transit route, connecting Guildford and White Rock. I suppose their building up 160th is for a local high street as well as another Fleetwood connection to Guildford.

Would be nice to see plenty of new frequent W-E routes in Surrey/Langley once the skytrain extension opens. Ideally they would run nearly the entire length of each arterial and with the least diversion possible. Came up with a small list of suggested routes - with some main stops along each route included.

104th Ave (#304)
Scott Road Station - City Hall - Guildford - East Guildford Park and Ride - Barnston Island Ferry terminal

100th Ave (#300)
Scott Road Station - King George Station - Green Timbers - North Surrey Secondary - 160th Street Station (future)

96th Ave (#396)
Scott Road Station - 120th St/96th Ave - Surrey Memorial Hospital - 140th Street Station (future) - 152nd - Tynehead - Walnut Grove - Fort Langley

88th Ave (#388)
Already in use. Add stop at future 152nd Street station + extend east to Walnut Grove/Fort Langley from Carvolth Exchange

84th Ave (#384)
Scottsdale Exchange - Bear Creek Park - 160th Street Station (future)

80th Ave (#380)
152nd Street Station (future) - Fleetwood Park Secondary - 168th Street Station - Langley Events Centre - Willoughby - Trinity Western University

72nd Ave I (#372)
Scottsdale Exchange - Kwantlen University - Newton Exchange - 152nd Street - 152nd Street Station (future)

72nd Ave II (#373)
184th Street Station (future) - East Clayton North - 200th Street - 208th Street - Willoughby - Carvolth Exchange

68th Ave (#368)
184th Street Station (future) - East Clayton - 208th Street - Willoughby - Trinity Western University

64th Ave (#364)
Scottsdale Exchange - Tamanawis Park - Panorama Ridge Secondary - Sullivan Heights Secondary - Cloverdale Athletic Park - 190th Street Station (future) - 200th Street - Kwantlen University Langley

60th Ave (#360)
Scottsdale Exchange - Panorama Park - 152nd St/64th Ave - Cloverdale Athletic Park (168th St/63rd Ave) - Cloverdale Racetrack - 196th Street Station (future)

58th + 56th Ave (Hwy 10) (either #358 or #356)
Scottsdale Exchange - West Newton Community Park - Panorama Village - South Cloverdale - 203rd Street Station (future)

Moving my reply over to the more appropriate Surrey/South of Fraser RT thread and keeping this on topic.

Is anyone tracking the Centra building, off of 100th ave in Surrey? Everest is building it, but I've never heard of this builder before. Any updates?

Render update by Bluesky Brightside (Bosa) for their development on the corner of 104th and King George from City of Surrey August update.

The color scheme change to what appears to be black and white looks slick.

some pics from the new Guildford Village. Lots of construction left. The Save-on-foods is really nice. Most of it has a few more months to go probably.

some random pics from the tech and health district next to the Hospital. There are still some really shabby-looking houses in the area, I imagine they will get replaced in a few years. Right now the area feels a little disjointed.

I am happy to see this project. I hope they will add a swimming pool in the future.

Surrey city council on Monday night council awarded Turnbull Construction Project Managers Ltd. a $453,348 contract to provide project management services related to the first phase of City Centre Sports Complex expansion of Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre in Whalley.

Council approved the design and construction of the project, as part of the Surrey Invest Program, in the city’s five-year financial capital program, 2021-2025.

“As the design process for the Project has already commenced at the end of July 2021, project management services are planned to commence immediately following approval in September 2021,” Rémi Dubé, Surrey’s acting general manager of planning and development, noted in a corporate report to council.

Coun. Laurie Guerra called it a “real super project,” one of 19 the city capital infrastructure projects on the books. “It’s really nice to see this stuff happening in the city.”

Coun. Doug Elford echoed that. “Certainly we’re going to be building a fantastic sports centre as a centerpiece as we develop and build our downtown centre.”

Mayor Doug McCallum also weighed in. “It’s nice to see we’re moving this exceptionally fast, forward, so that we can get it out into our community as fast as we can. Great project.”

Damon Motors breaks ground on Surrey plant set to produce 40,000 electric motorbikes a year
CEO says annual revenue will be close to $1b by 2025

Motor City, Metro Vancouver is not.

But the region is now pressing against the accelerator in terms of its electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing capacity with the impending launch of a new motorcycle plant.

Damon Motors Inc. officially broke ground Tuesday on the site of its new head office and manufacturing facility in Surrey, where as many as 40,000 electric motorcycles will be produced annually.

The EVs were all designed at Damon’s East Vancouver headquarters and the company will be making its way to the new head office within the manufacturing facility in about a year’s time.

OK, so that's kind of cool...

Not cheap (4 models, US$17-40K) but neat to see this in the Vancouver area.

it says that the West Vancouver police have become a customer as well as converted some of their existing fleet to their tech.

Got a flyer in the mail today regarding a proposed development at 13301 104th Ave. Looks very ambitious - 5 towers at 48, 44, 43, 40, and 38 stories respectively. See for yourself: https://www.bristolestates.ca/downlo...fo-meeting.pdf

Impressive development and the childcare space is much needed in the area. I do not anticipate the city having any concerns or reservations about the proposed increase to the FAR. They are just approving any high-rise at the moment. The Surrey downtown core will look quite impressive by 2045.

So much density going up in the area that it's crazy. The skyline will really benefit from that proposed tall office tower.
