100% in agreement wouldn't be surprised to see one pop up in the springs church parking lot with its own curb cut access to Lagimodiere one day..

Who cares though? I don’t understand why people get so agitated, like you’re giving them more power than you need to. I don’t see chick fil à coming here for business reasons, but also being obsessed with opposing it won’t change anything lmao

I'd be interested in what they have lined up for the 2 larger CRU's that will be built where the current food court is. Will Dollarama stay? Will my barebr move into one of the new small CRU's? Most of the new CRU's are quite small.

They finally paved the new parking lot after having it sit as gravel for ~2 years. So things are moving along. There's been workers in the theatre space for a while now.

I was actually reading up on Cineplex recently and apparently Junxion is a newer banner for them. They are using it on properties where they try to fuse the elements of their movie banners with elements from Rec Room. KP will actually be one of the first locations. I also think this is a change from their previous plans for KP where they had a similar concept but more kid focused.

Took a noontime stroll through the downtown skywalk and I noticed a big schwack of new retail vacancies after the latest month end. Lots of longstanding shops and eateries have closed down.

That’s too bad. Thankfully Greenish is still around. Definitely worth the walk from portage & main if you’ve never been.

Greenish looked like it was packing up but I am not 100% certain about that one. The stores adjacent to it were shutting down, though.

I took a walk through the outlet mall yesterday. While it was not particularly busy, I only saw one store front that was empty and available for a new tenant. Overall, the mall appears to have weathered the COVID epidemic quite well.

You must have been in a different outlet mall than I was about a week ago. Walking through less than a quarter of the mall I saw three "empty" store fronts. Sure the mall is doing a good job making them look occupied but month to month rentals are not the sort of thing a mall normally wants long term. And yes technically they aren't "empty" but that is just because they managed to find someone way subprime to fill a space temporarily. If they had international brands knocking on their door looking for space those locations would be freed up in a blink.

Is there something new going into the spot or did they just board it up because they are vacant?

Costco

Anyone have an update on the Costco supposedly going in on north Main at the Perimeter? Site is fully serviced and ready for development, but there’s been no activity this construction season or the last.
