According to Chicago YIMBY the address listed on the permit is 164 N Peoria Street.

If the other buildings were required to be torn down, you would probably know by now.

The restaurants on Randolph are still kicking and going full throttle as this project has been spinning up.

Because the address is Randolph, it is confusing. However, if you look at Peoria then it's pretty obvious that the building on the left is Lena Brava. There have been multiple permits issued for Peoria.

In the above link, the building will be built on the 1 story older looking industrial building and surface lot to the north of it.

It's kinda crazy to see this kind of construction on this block. Having spent the Summer in the West Loop, I got used to the low-rise and mid-rise buildings, but this block is so far out for a building of this size, it's really amazing. If this was the loop, River North, South Loop, it would just fade in the background. However, having walked by this location so many times, it's amazing to think there will be a nearly 500' tower here.

This one will be fun to watch rise given its location. It's definitely going to change the feel of the neighborhood for sure.

If built as rendered this has the potential to be one of the best projects in recent history excluding WPE, One Chicago, NEMA, etc.

The skyline has always been north-south oriented. Great to see it bulking up now! West Loop/IMD development will be a big help in helping round out the skyline. Halsted Point wil help bring the skyline further west on the north side. The western part of River North (west of LaSalle, east of the river, and north of Grand) needs a few more signature 400-600 footers as well. Its fairly low slung. The eventual development of the former Cabrini Green land would help immensely.

While reading I was thinking of a similar thing happening in the South Loop (a densification moving westward, with ongoing/future buildouts of Southbank, Riverline, and the 78. But then I remembered.....Dearborn Park. Honestly forgot it existed for 8-10 seconds. They were glorious seconds.

Anyway, veering OT.....

I've probably mentioned before, but the more I look at these renderings, the more I despise these arches. It's just visual nonsense thrown into this design. I think it would be phenomenal without them, but they are really jarring.

They do feel a little out of place on a building that is otherwise all right angles. That being said I don't think they're just visual nonsense. They scale down an otherwise monolithic facade into more visually digestible sections.

Ohhh 😮 Do tell.....

I foresee more proposals moving forward, especially towers in the West Loop.

The residential occupancy has improved dramatically over the past year.
